What we're tasting: Sticky cola sweetness and a smooth caramel base perfectly balance with a delicate green apple acidity and a hint of walnuts.
We have been really excited by some of the amazing coffee coming out of Indonesia at the moment and this coffee was an absolute stand out to our roasting team at our latest Cafe Imports cupping. It is a great example of what Sulawesi coffee is becoming known for. We have roasted it with espresso in mind, equally delicious as a black and a milk based brew.
A little about: Yolan Tirta, a third-generation coffee producer, has played a pivotal role since 2016 in revitalising the Gowa regions coffee industry. His knowledge of the rich volcanic soils, tropical climate and abundant rainfall in the area has allowed him to carefully select and cultivate the best suited varietals such as Typica and S795. Alongside his team, they have created a great example for other farmers in the region to follow, and they are looking to the future with upgrade plans already in the works.
